Our History

The club was formed in March 2003, in time for the winter season of that year. Two teams that had previously operated independently formed the initial basis of the club.

The first team was called “Team” which started in 2001. This team is now playing in U19 boys. The other team was called “Slammers” and finished their junior participation last season winning the U20 boys premiership. They now play Thursday night Men's Youth League comp.

There was also a girls team that were playing for St Anne's Club but came across to us.

Initially we trained at St Anthonys after school but quickly managed to secure a training facility at Westgarth Primary School. We soon outgrew this space and negotiated with Santa Maria College to use their Polding Centre. This was much later maybe 2005 or 2006.

The original committee consisted of: Gary Macdonald, Jenny Macdonald, Carmel Walsh, Robyn Canavan and Maureen McBrearty.

The club has certainly grown from three teams to the current 31 teams and 234 players.

The club now has 34 teams and around 275 players, as at 2022/23 Summer. The club operates in the City of Darebin (Melbourne, Victoria), and surrounding areas.
